Health Insurance
Comprehensive medical, dental and prescription coverage. Low premiums, deductible and co-pays. Virtual care and emergency telemedicine tools at no cost to employees. Voluntary vision insurance and Flexible Spending Account.

Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage (1x basic annual salary to a maximum of $200,000, at no cost to employees).

Voluntary Short-Term Disability Insurance.

Employee is eligible after one year of service. Automatic enrollment is twice a year; June 1 and December 1. The company makes contributions depending on profit that year. The plan is subject to a 2-6 year vesting schedule (20% per year starting with two years of vesting service).

Managed by Fidelity Investments, this is a pre-tax savings plan with contributions made by the employee. The company matches 50% up to an employee contribution of 6%.

Paid Time Off
Employees earn 2.67 hours on the first of every month. Employees may accumulate and carryover up to 64 hours.

Holiday Pay
Nine holidays per year are observed as days off with up to nine (9) hours of pay: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and two floating holidays.

Howell Instruments, Inc. is committed to helping employees face the demands of juggling work, family and personal obligations by offering a number of possible flexible work arrangements. These arrangements provide employees with increased flexibility with their work schedule while allowing the company to maintain a progressive and productive work environment.
All Howell Instruments, Inc. employees will be considered for alternative work scheduling on a case-by-case basis in situations where creative work schedules have been shown to accomplish both work and personal goals, to provide coverage for individual department operations and to serve the company as a whole with increased productivity at no expense to quality output.

Several flexible work schedule options are available to employees as approved by the department manager:

9/80 Schedule – 6:45am – 4:30pm Monday – Thursday and alternating Friday, from 6:45am – 3:30pm

4/10 Schedule – 5:45am – 4:30pm, Monday – Thursday

Flexible Work Schedule – Arrival/departure times vary. Employees must work their prescribed number of hours per pay period (40 hours for weekly or 80 hours for bi-weekly) and be present during a daily “core time.” The designated core time in which employees are expected to be at work is 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Thursday.
